Welcome to the official website of the Missionary Servants of the Poor

Priestly Ordination, gift of God in service to the Poor

“Do whatever he tells you” (Jn 2:5). With this declaration of faith of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, to the servants at the wedding feast at Cana, took place our solemn Celebration of Holy Mass during which Don Mauricio Sangaletti became a priest on October 30, 2021. His priestly motto from the quotation above shows us the will of our new priest to devote himself entirely to the service of God in the Church at the service of his brothers. Yes, because every vocation always has a community address. No one is ordained only for himself, but to make himself available wherever obedience sends him.
Even within the limits imposed by the pandemic, with a limited number of faithful, the celebration was a wonderful and unique event in the church of São Marcos, in Curitiba, which administered and served by our beloved congregation. Everything took place with great serenity and piety on the part of all the participants. Most Reverend Mario Marquez, the ordaining bishop, surrounded by the ten priests present, in his homily he highlighted not only the beauty of the Priestly Vocation, but also the commitment of fidelity and self-giving that is required of all those who make themselves available for this great vocation: the Ministerial Priesthood.
We can only praise God for the gift of Fr. Mauricio’s vocation and for his mission in our Congregation of the Missionary Servants of the Poor. Congratulations Father Mauricio, especially to your family, in the person of your mother, Mrs. Neusa, and your brothers and also your father, already deceased. Congratulations to the whole Church and to all of us, Servants or the Poor, for this priestly ordination. ” You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek” (Heb 5:6).
P. Mauro Zandoná, S.d.P.
